School News and House Updates

I have officially turned in all my papers for my Rule 13 Certification and I am so excited. For those of you who don't know what that is, I will be allowed to take care of legal matters under the supervision of a licensed attorney. For most people I describe it like the scene on Legally Blonde where Elle gets to be the attorney in the murder case at the end of the movie and Emmitt consents to supervise here.

There is actually paperwork to be filed though. I had to pass character and fitness, which has to be done to take the bar anyway, I just did it early. This is where the law board does a huge investigation of your past (criminal records, medical records, psych records, employment history, moving history) just to make sure you haven't done anything that would make you unfit to practice law. I then had to complete one half of law school and be in good standing with the school. I passed the MPRE. Lastly, you have to find an attorney who will supervise you and agree not to let you do anything unethical or illegal. For me, this part was easy. SP signed my papers back in January. Some of the attorneys up here at work have offered too. I just don't know if I want to do anything up here yet. I'll decide over the summer and can submit a new attorney paper in the fall. I am so excited though. SP has already been picking out cases for me to do :)

In the way of house news, things are coming together. The downstairs back is finally put back together and we have running water. No more driving back to my mother's house to use the restroom. (dang them boys who just pee outside). Chris and his dad are about finished mudding the kitchen, will have it textured tomorrow and painted over the weekend. We have gotten several calls this week about ordered items being in. My cabinets are in Springfield and will be delivered to the house on Friday :), our stove is in at Sears, and the kitchen flooring is in as well. Sounds to me like the kitchen is getting worked on this weekend.

On top of everything going on in the house this week, things are also moving right along outside as well. Chris has been working hard on the field. He has been on the tractor a lot brush hogging the field. The boys are also taking down a portion of the fence this weekend and we are getting new fence next week. We are supposed to have cows on the field before May 1.

There is so much going on in the next week and a half and I'll be anxious to see everything next weekend when I go home.

Hope the week is going well for everyone else.
