Weekend Recap

Well, it's the dreaded Monday again.

This weekend was such a busy weekend. We had tons to do and very little time to do it.

Friday night once Chris and I both got off work, we had dinner today then headed out to his aunt's house to see his mom. She was going to be leaving on Sunday so we wanted to hang out with her before we left. Everyone out there was getting ready for grandma's 70th surprise birthday bash that was to occur on Saturday. We just hung out and visited with everyone. I sure do love Chris's family.

Saturday was the most hectic day of the weekend. We first went to a little bridal shop in WP. We knew we weren't going to buy any dresses, but we went to get some ideas of shapes, so it will make our trips to Springfield for dresses more productive. I was glad that Chris's mom was in town so she could join us. I quickly learned that a mermain dress wasn't right for me (which we all guessed). I love ball gowns and fuller a-lines. I also learned that I want a little train. Although I saw nothing there that I was in love with, it was a very productive trip.

After dressed browsing, mom and I ran a few errands and grabbed lunch. We headed back to the house to get ready for a wedding in Springfield. A friend of mine, Tessa Herndon, that I've known since grade school was getting married in Springfield and I was asked to be a bridesmaid. It was a pretty casual wedding, but Tessa looked beautiful and she was so happy to be getting married. I guess that is all that matters. Here are a few pictures of the wedding.

Because of the wedding, I missed the main part of Grandma Shannon's surprise birthday party. I was pretty bummed about that. Chris's grandma has been my grandma too for the past 7 years and I love her to death. I got back in WP around 8 and headed out there. Most of the people were gone. But a few were there. It was a nice opportunity to see more family.

Yesterday was a hot day in the Ozarks. Chris and I worked outside at the house most of the day. We put up our mailbox, weeed our flower beds, fixed some fence, and cleaned up around the yard. We also spent some time on the 4 wheeler. Our land is so beautiful and it's so nice to go ride the whole thing and sit on top of a hill and just look at the green pasture. We feel so blessed. Dozer spent most of the day outside with us too. He was completely exhausted by the end of the day. He crashed early and slept hard all night long. I was hoping to get a little tan yesterday, but no such luck other than my ears getting a little red.

That's about it for our weekend. Hope that you all have a great week. I'm already counting down the days til Friday. We are having special company for the holiday weekend :)

  1. Sounds like a very busy day! McDaniel's in Springfield is where I found my dress and I loved their customer service.

Looks like a nice, casual wedding! I remember Tessa.
