Weekend Recap

This weekend has been crazy. Sorry, no pictures yet. Will post some later.

I left Columbia on Friday monring at 5:30 a.m. I love driving when there is no traffic out. Too bad it rained on my during my entire drive. That wasn't fun. 63 highway from Jeff City to Cabool is a terrible road. But I was sure glad to get home.

When I got home, my mother was still not even dressed for our day of errands. I unloaded my car (which I still am not unpacked totally) and played with my puppy. It's amazing how much that little guy has grown. My mother was surprised how well he remembered me for not seeing him in over 3 weeks. I just smile, Dozer knows who is momma is.

Friday we had some errands to run. We ran up to the house to check on the new fence (it was completed on Friday afternoon and it looks awesome). We are now officially ready for cows on our 28 arces. We first went to Wal-Mart to buy a few things for the weekend. I bought the most beautiful mirror for one of our baths. I will post it later. We had lunch with a family friend, Mabel. She was close to my grandmother that passed away in July. It was great to see her. Then I had an eye appointment and a hair appointment. I try to get as much taken care of while I had time off. I hate taking off work. I always feel like I miss something.

Saturday morning, I had to wake Chris up early. His mother was due in town around 10 am and we had tons of cleaning to do. Chris actaully stayed in the house all day to help me and did whatever I asked him to do. Sometimes he's pretty great. We even had to babysit Chris's little brother for a while when his mother ran into town. Tyler is precious and just played with Dozer all day. It was good for both of them. We had a huge famiyl dinner at Brenda's (Chris's aunt). It was really nice to see everyone. I hadn't seen Chris's extended family in several weeks.

Yesterday was a pretty low key day. We worked some more on the inside of the house. I lost Chris when it wasn't raining outside. That boy loves his farm. We hosted our first dinner at our house last night. We bbq'd some hamburgers and had all the fixings. It was pretty nice. Chris's mom, grandma, little brother and 2 cousins were there along with my mom and dad. Dozer and I headed back to my mom's pretty early. We had a big weekend and Dozer played hard for two straight days. Plus I'm still not fully re-couped from finals and knew I had to get up in the morning for work.

It's now Monday and I'm at my Howell County job. I sure do love it here. I love my office and the girls that I work for. I have my first uncontested hearing next week to take up myself. Wish me luck :)
