1. Cabinets have now been ordered. They are oak in a natural color tone. Chris and I are both very traditional in our wood choices.
2. Counter top colors have been decided. We are doing laminate since it is the cheapest. We aren't planning on staying in this house forever. We will save getting better counter tops for the new house we will build.
3. Kitchen applicances (stove and over the range microwave) have been ordered. Again since we aren't planning on being in the house long term, we got a cheaper electric stove. We will go with gas when we build. And since we are limited in counter space and we were re-doing the cabinets, we did upgrade to having an over the range microwave. (it is so much more handy)
4. Floor coverings - (sadly I didn't take pictures of these). I picked out a nice darker wood flooring for our front living room. We are losing the original, old wood floors in there, but since there is carpet in the family we decided to pick out wood for the front living room too. I also chose a nice laminate for the kitchen. It is really cool. You can do just about anything you want to it and it doesn't break. And the biggest positive is that it doesn't have to be glued down. What a great do it ourself project.
